WinHelp
HyperPublish and PaperKiller can export all the pages in Rtf for WinHelp. In other words an hypertext, i.e. an .AEH file, can be converted in an .HLP file.
To obtain an .HLP file, you have to choose “File >Export pages...”, then “Rtf WINHELP (WinHelp Compiler): one file only” as format. The software exports, then automatically starts the MS Help Compiler. If you don't have this program, search for hcw403.exe or click here. Once downloaded, double click on it to install.
At the end of the compilation, you will obtain a .HLP file that you can deploy with your application.
Links and keywords are correctly converted. Note that in HyperPublish you can define the table of contents with “Hypertext >Predefined page order - TOC”. Please note that WinHelp capabilities are limited, so you will not see frames, nor animated images and some advanced behaviors.
HtmlHelp
From releases 3.0.9, Hyper Publish PRO and Paper Killer can export all the pages also in HtmlHelp. Choose “File >Export pages...”, then “Html (HtmlHelp Compiler)” as format.
The software exports, then automatically starts the MS Html Help Compiler, if available. If you don't have this program, click here to download it, or search www.microsoft.com for Html Help Compiler or htmlhelp.exe (in case they changed the link again...). Once downloaded, double click on it to install.
At the end of the compilation, you will obtain a .CHM file that you can deploy with your application. Note that in order to display correctly the CHM file, the target PC needs Internet Explorer 3, IE4 or IE5. So if you are not sure that your customers have IE, you must distribute it with your application. In addition, you also need to deploy the file hhupd.exe (click here to download).
Note that in Hyper Publish PRO you can define the table of contents with “Hypertext >Predefined page order - TOC”.
